Sales and Sales Tax

Records need to be kept on sales revenue and applicable sales tax. There may be more than one tax rate, depending on the type of item sold and some items may be entirely exempt from the sales tax. There are also exemptions based on the status of the purchaser. In the situation whereas sales tax is exempt records need to be kept accordingly. The sales taxes collected for the state government must be reported and filed in a timely manner.
